San Francisco Photographer – Bay Area Portrait Photography bio picture

welcome to my blog and website!

I love what I do - I'm a mother to my 2 year-old baby girl named Gemma, wife to my amazing husband Scott, sister (youngest of 6) to my wonderful brothers and sisters, and daughter to my supportive and sweet mother and father (may he rest in peace).  I am also a photographer in the Bay Area with passion for people and telling stories.

For 15 years I produced video games, focusing mainly on art, animation and story. Now I'm applying those artistic and story-telling skills to my photography and having so much fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my site. Drop me a comment and let me know what you think - I love hearing from folks!  :)

Enjoy life!  Enjoy my site!  Gracias!

Katia & Eli | sneak peek

Recently I had the pleasure of working with Katia & Eli on their post-elopement engagement photos.   They were both really nervous at first but we had so much fun working together and letting them just be them.  We shot into the night and were able to come up with the photo below.

Her are 2 takes on the same photo taken by the Bay Bridge and Ferry Building in San Francisco.  Which do you like better?img_8644t-2_web2img_8644t-2_web3

Katia - Both pictures are amazing to me because I did not realize we were creating something so beautiful at the time. The first one is very bright, even for a night shot. But the second one is more polished and sleeker. Either way, thank you so much Rose for the experience. If you're checking out Rosaura's blog and you're deciding whether to give her a call... DO IT! Not only is she an amazing artist and has an incredible way of capturing your tender moments with your loved ones but also, she is a wonderful person. You won't regret it.

Eli Glez - After letting my eyes scan very closely at both photos, I felt a sudden explosion of romanticism. I think that this capture portrays a conservative, yet adventurous couple living and surviving in a demanding sophisticated modern world. Plus, having the Bay Bridge as our background is magnificent. In my inane opinion, it represents a connection between work and home, west and east, land and sea, Katia’s heart and mine. I believe that the contrast of the first photo reveals unwanted blur, yet I agree with natural exposure. In the second photo, the contrast of the robust dark sky allows us and the landmark to stand out in a perfect balance. I like how the quay points at us and the water visualizes a calm feeling having the Bay Bridge as our witness. So, this capture in various ways is perfect and I love it.

karen - Agree with Melissa - although both are nice, the first is great. Mel and Katia are two little girls that I remember fondly whom have grown into stunning women. Can't wait for the shoot in April!

Erin Arinez - PS- I love both versions, the first one I like just a tad bit more because it brings out the City lights and makes you feel like you're in the pic!

Erin Arinez - Aside from the fact that the lady in the pic is my sis- I think this is a gorgeous shot! Looks like a magazine ad selling fabulousness! Great job as usual Rose, it's nice to see how you're progressing from great to greater! Keep up the 'great' work!
