I love what I do - I'm a mother to my 2 year-old baby girl named Gemma, wife to my amazing husband Scott, sister (youngest of 6) to my wonderful brothers and sisters, and daughter to my supportive and sweet mother and father (may he rest in peace). I am also a photographer in the Bay Area with passion for people and telling stories.
For 15 years I produced video games, focusing mainly on art, animation and story. Now I'm applying those artistic and story-telling skills to my photography and having so much fun!

Once a year wedding and portrait photographers from all over the world descend upon Las Vegas for the biggest industry convention of the year. Last year WPPI attracted over 16,000 participants and this year it is expected to be even bigger.
Well, tonight is opening night of WPPI with Photographer’s Ignite opening the show. Last year I had the great privilege and honor to be chosen to be one of the 15 speakers at Photographer’s Ignite 2011.
What is Photographer’s Ignite? 15 speakers. Any topic. 5 minutes each. 20 slides each. Each slide displayed for exactly 15 seconds and advanced automatically. At the end of the 5 minutes, no matter what, the presentation is over. It is a wild and fun exercise in being informative, entertaining and under pressure all in front of a jam-packed room full of industry hotshots and colleagues cheering you on.
The pressure and nerves before going on stage for me were crazy. Ok, I’ll admit it, the morning of the show, I cried, felt nauseous and wondered why I had even thought I could do something like this. But the programs were printed and I had to just go for it. And I’m super glad I did. It was FUN! I finished with my slides and didn’t fall on my face.
Right now I’m wishing all the Ignite speakers the best of luck as they get on stage. I’m excited for you, especially my friend Kirsten Lewis whom I convinced to try out for it last year and we both ended up presenting. Rock the house, Kirsten! I’ve been on major blogging hiatus mainly focusing on shooting and editing my weddings and keeping my clients feed with photos this season. But I did stop to try something new and submitted my epic “hilltop-wedding-turned-warehouse-wedding-in-just-a-matter-of-hours wedding” as an experiment. Well, I just returned from a super inspiring and fun time at the Foundation Conference in New Orleans to find that Marielle & Eric’s wedding just got published! This is my very first time getting published and I’m super excited.

I have been carrying sparklers around with me in my car for over a year looking for the right opportunity to use them with the right couple. Well, this 4th of July weekend I had the right couple and the right opportunity. Judy and Ousseni celebrated their marriage on a boat sailing across the San Francisco Bay. Afterwards we tried our hand at a ‘sparkler shot’ – they were such great sports because it took a while to figure it out but I think it was worth it. Thank you Judy & Ousseni for an awesome day on the Bay and for letting me be a part of your fantastic celebration. Much love to you guys. Enjoy this sneak peek.
Today I get to photograph Laurena & Eric’s wedding at the Berkeley Rose Gardens. I’m so excited to spend the day with the and all of their amazing family and friends. I’ve never shot a wedding where the groom has 6 Best Men! They are gorgeous and genuine and their joy is infectious. Can’t wait for this amazing day!
She loves yoga & cooking. He loves video games and all things techie. They both love to eat out together and be in each other’s company. Linda and Alex met in high school and it was literally love at first sight. 15 year later they are finally getting married. When asked why it has taken so long to get married Alex replied, ” It’s that we never rushed into things and if were meant to be together, this day would come and it has.” Their lives are so incredibly dedicated to each other and their families, it is so great to be around their love and laughter.
