Momma is 8.5 months pregnant and everyone is waiting, especially Kenneth.  He’s so excited to meet his baby sister and I’m sure he’s got more questions than anyone else. But for now all he wants is his parents and to name his baby sister “Mickey Mouse.”  I had such a great time hanging out with Nekia and her family and I also can’t wait to meet the new addition to their family.  Thank you so much for trusting me to capture this little bit of quiet and fun before she arrives.  Here are some of my favorites from our time together.

8:04pm, 2/1/12 last Saturday night – “It’s Randy! Wanted to let you know that Jenna’s water broke!”

So began my adventure last weekend when I had a super wonderful honor to document the arrival and first few hours of Preston Michael’s little life.  Wow, it is so incredible watching Jenna show so much bravery, vulnerability and strength.  Randy’s unending support and positivity were so sweet and inspirational to witness especially when they found out that after all their preparations they were to have a C-section.  Almost exactly 12 hours after Jenna’s water broke, at 8:07am, Jenna and Randy were holding little perfect and healthy Preston Michael.  They are home now resting, enjoying and adjusting to life as a new family.  Thank you again for allowing me the honor to witness and document that start of your new journey as parents and as a family.  Here’s a peek of their first day together:

The Wang Family is so much fun!  I met Ann when I helped photograph her wedding to Scott in San Francisco a few years ago.  And then had the great honor of documenting the birth of baby Ali.  And now she and her brother Ernest got their two families together to play by their childhood hangout, a creek with a swing, and let me photograph all the fun.  What is better than seeing your family play together on the same swing in the same place you did when you were their age?  Such an honor and pleasure to document these families as they grow and play together.  Thank you Ann and brother Ernest for trusting me to capture these memories for you.  Below are some of my favorites from our time together, enjoy!

Ok, sometimes folks are not in the mood for photographs but that is ok, being grumpy sometimes is part of being human – I’ll still capture it.

And sometimes a little swinging and playing with your sisters and cousins outside can brighten up your mood – I’ll capture that too!

I love my clients and I love to see their lives evolve and grow.  Two and a half years ago I had the awesome pleasure of photographing Jenna and Randy’s wedding at the beautiful Las Positas Vineyards in Livermoore.  (I really need to blog that wedding since I love it so.  I gave birth shortly after their wedding and it has been a whirlwind since but I’m gonna see what I can do about a wedding blogpost for them).  So when they asked me to photograph their maternity session all I jumped at the chance.  We met up at Borges Ranch in Walnut Creek and had a lovely afternoon session talking, laughing and just hanging out.   Jenna and Randy, I’m so thrilled for your new addition to finally arrive and so grateful you are my friends and trust me to capture the most important moments in your life.  Below are a few of my favorites from my time with them.  Enjoy!

One year ago, in Burlingame CA, a beautiful baby girl named Ali was born.  I helped photograph her parents’ awesome and fun San Francisco wedding.  So it was especially awesome to witness and photograph their next major milestone.  I felt so lucky and honored to have captured their baby girl’s first moments of life.

Happy Birthday Ali! And super congratulations to Ann and Scott for surviving the first year so wonderfully with your little amazing happy Ali!
